I agree with our previous HR Director Anna when she said working ability events are quite dull. A very crude generalisation would be that, for many companies, they mean “Hey let’s all exercise together” or “Let’s do team-building group activities” a couple of times per year. The next day, it is all business as usual, and the team building is completely forgotten by everyone.
We at SMT Events organise a range of events for our clients, including those on work ability. We have personal experience in various practices, so we can easily challenge our clients in work ability promotion.
Together with FitFarm, we launched the #SMTtreenaa programme for all of our personnel. 75% of our personnel participated in the seven week workout programme. Combined, we all shed 600 kilograms of excess weight and gained an average of two extra hours of energy per day.
These are amazing numbers that shrunk everyone’s waistline and bags under our eyes, while cutting occupational healthcare costs and boosting productivity. Everything indicates that #SMTtreenaa is an excellent programme. This, like any other well-planned team activity, also contributes to the sense of working community.
The #SMTtreenaa programme and the related activities included a ridiculous number of experiences from the Puurola “porridge bike” to the Malminkartano Hill stairs. Many of us got to enjoy completely new exercise experiences. And losing two sizes is an experience in itself as well…
Even though the #SMTtreenaa programme has ended, our team is still excited about taking care of ourselves. We do the plank exercise, eat quark and nuts and share our joys and sorrows. After Christmas time, many will probably confess that they replaced quark with ham and now their pants are a little tight around the waistline. And then we will do it once again, as a team: keep going and feel the burn!
